“Abel and Tressie are buried in a Methodist Church Cemetery, where a new marker was placed at their graves in recent years by a grandson, Ed G. Funderburk.” Since I did not find a grandson with this name, I decided to find out just who this was. I was able to determine that it was George Edward Funderburk, a GREAT-grandson of Abel Laney. This was confirmed by George Edward's daughter, Zita, who told me that her father had the markers placed in Brinson Cemetery.18
