[S1648] Cemetery Marker in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery, McDonough, Henry Co., GA (N Bethany Rd off CR81 (33.43010 -84.09015)), The death certificate has the yr-mon-day written in, and it looks like someone added a birth date above it. This has 19 Aug 1858. Information was provided by his daughter, Ethel. The gravestone has a birth date of 22 Sep 1858. Don't know the informant. This is the same date given for the birth of Mary A., his sister. His Aug date and her Sep date are not possible. So either a year is wrong or they were twins (both are listed as 1 year old in the 1860 census). Mary A.'s birth date is on the cemetery monument in the list of children who had died by 1879, when the mother and unnamed baby died. This date is likely correct.
