Quigg and Augusta Wheeler were divorced on 20 Jul 1882 in Oswego Co., NY.10,9
Richard's second marriage was to Leora Wallace, daughter of George Wallace and Sarah M. Lindsley, on 15 Feb 1883 in Syracuse, Onondaga Co., NY.11 Richard was listed as a grocer in 1870 and by 1900 he was a merchant in hardware. There is an ad for his store in the Oswego City Directory in 1890 (Wallace, Quigg & Co.).12
In February, 1889, George Wallace disposed of his interest in the grocery firm of George Wallace & Son, turned it over to his son, Harrison, and formed a partnership with Richard W. Quigg to carry on the hardware business in the handsome large double store in East Second street. The new firm carried a full line of hardware and farm implements, besides a large stock of seeds in Oswego, Oswego Co., NY.13
