     Suzanne Couillandeau was born circa 1663 in La Tramblade, France.1 She was the daughter of Pierre Couillandeau and Mary/Marie Fougeraut. Suzanne Couillandeau immigrated to Charles Town, Berkeley Co., SC, between 1685 and 1687.2,3

Suzanne Couillandeau married Isaac DuBose I circa 1688 in SC.4,5,1 Suzanne Couillandeau and Isaac DuBose I were naturalized in 1689 in SC.2 In 1721 Suzanne Couillandeau purchased land describing herself as widow, thus establishing an upper death date for Isaac I, her husband.1

Suzanne DuBose created a trust dated 11 Mar 1733/34 in Berkeley Co., SC, to be held by John Laurens, for the benefit of Isaac DuBose II, Elizabeth Whelden, Daniel DuBose, Stephen DuBose, John DuBose, Andrew DuBose and Peter DuBose, her children. She was about to remarry and wanted to protect her property for her children.6
