     Following are some of the Adam Joneses researched in Georgia and South Carolina. These are only 5 of the Adams found. Three of these have Seaborns as sons or grandsons. The name Lerisey/Levicie/etc. appears several times. I have not found the parents of the Laurens Co., Georgia Adam.

The many Seaborn Joneses is reflected in a biography of Seaborn Jones of Halifax County, North Carolina and Augusta, Georgia. “Seaborn was greatly admired and his brothers and cousins named sons “Seaborn.” So many “Seaborn Jones” were in the family that they gave them nicknames to distinguish them.”

Laurens County., Georgia
Adam Jones of Laurens Co., GA, had a wife named Lerisey, and children as follows: Jane, Lydia, Delia, Ellenor, Margaret, Queen Ann, Susan, Seaborn, Holly Ann, Laura, and John (from his will).

Adam died in March, 1829. I have found no census records for Adam in Laurens Co., but Lerisey is enumerated in Laurens in 1830 (Levice), 1840 (Luricie), and in Pulaski in 1850 (Levicey).

In the 1830 Laurens Co. census, Lerisey is enumerated right after Richard Barlow. This is evidence that her daughter, Ellenor, is the Ellen/Nellie who married James Barlow (between 1830 and 1835), son of Richard (mentioned in Richard’s will as ‘my daughter in law, Nellie Barlow’. In 1840 James is enumerated 4 lines from Luricie. In census records, Ellen is called Ellen (1850-1870) and Nellie in 1880).

By 1850, the only child living with Lerisey is Seaborn (Seabron). He is then enumerated in 1860 (Wilkinson), 1870 and 1880 (Laurens). He died 12 Jul 1892.

Colleton District/County, South Carolina.
The marriage record (A. H. Jones and Levicy) attributed to Adam and Lerisey by many researchers, turned out to be the marriage of Andrew H. Jones. Subsequent newspaper items: in the obituary of one of his children, it uses the names Andrew H. and Levicy; in his obituary, Andrew H. of Colleton Co. The obituary of Mrs. Levicy Jones has her birth15 Dec 1796, Colleton; death18 Sep 1873, Salkehatchie (Colleton) Death and Obituary Notices.

St Paul Parish, Richmond, Columbia, Morgan, and Pike counties, Georgia
Another family of interest, because of similar names is that of Adam Jones,a Revolutionary War soldier. Adam married Nancy Harrison in Virginia. They had a son Richard (will of Richard Harrison). Was Isaac also a son? See EN>Isaac Jones Bible. Adam died in 1826.

Isaac married Malinda Clayton and they moved to Morgan Co. where Seaborn was born in 1810.
Isaac died there in 1821.
Malinda moved to Pike Co. circa 1823, with Seaborn. Seaborn married Nancy Wadsworth in 1845 and they had Lovisa/Lovicey. Seaborn continued in Pike Co. in 1840-at least 1870.

Pulaski County, Georgia
Adam (b. c1770-75-d. 1845?) married Susannah Clark (?). Son, Seaborn, was b. 19 Sep 1818 in Georgia. They are enumerated in Pulaski Co. in 1820-1840. Seaborn married Susan Hall (1832-1883) in 1850 in Pulaski Co. They had a son, Adam Hall and daughter, Siddy. Siddy married William R. McNair and they had a daughter, Queen Ann. Seaborn died in 1898 and is buried in Bleckley Co., GA.

Warren County, Georgia
Benjamin Jones and Johannar Perry(?) had a son, Adam (Sr.) in Virginia. They moved to Warren Co. ca 1794, where Adam, Sr. m. Susannah Denmark(?) in 1815 and where Adam, Jr. was born. Adam, Sr. m. Nancy Baxley in 1821, and died in 1830. Adam, Jr. was married to Mary unk, who died in1858. He then m. Eliphar unk before the 1860 census. He died in 1885.

Halifax County, North Carolina/Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia
Seaborn (1759-1815) was a Revolutionary War soldier, and then a politician and attorney in Georgia. His parents are possibly Abraham Jones, Jr. and Martha Patsey Jones.


Abbeville and Laurens counties, South Carolina
Adam Crane Jones, Sr., Jr., and III lived in these counties. They died, respectively, in Abbeville (1807), Abbeville (1815), and Laurens Co., South Carolina (after 1880). So they are not to be confused with the Adam in Lauren Co., Georgia.1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13

Catherine Eliza White married Tarpley Higdon, son of Philip Higdon and Sarah (Clary Ann) Gardner, on 20 Jul 1890 in Muscogee Co., GA, though White may be her previous married name.3 Catherine Eliza White was enumerated in the census of 1900 in Columbus, Muscogee Co., GA in the household of Tarpley Higdon (her husband. She is enumerated as Eliza C., their marriage record calls her Catherine, and his obituary calls her Lizzy.)2
