Dickenson was enumerated as Head of Household in the census of 1860 in Decatur Co., GA, with others in the household: Julia Ann Hale and Mary Frances Dickenson.6

I have a reference to Samuel being in the 62nd Virginia Mounted Infantry,but I did not find him listed in this group.

Dickenson was enumerated as Head of Household in the census of 1880 in Decatur Co., GA, with others in the household: Julia Ann Hale, Jesse Lee Dickenson, George Harry Dickenson, Hattie Graham Cole, Margaret Byrd Dickenson, John L. Allen and A. A. Allen.

Samuel H. Dickenson left a will dated 10 Mar 1894 in Decatur Co., GA. Heirs: Lucy Lutitia Fleming, his daughter. Heir and Executor: Julia Ann Hale, Edward Thomas Cole Dickenson and Jesse Lee Dickenson, his wife and 2 sons. Executor: George Harry Dickenson, a son, whose children are also named as heirs.9

Samuel H. Dickenson died on 27 Dec 1894 in Bainbridge, Decatur Co., GA, at age 79.2 He was buried in Oak City Cemetery, Bainbridge, Decatur Co., GA.10,2
