Lehnich/Laney Family

?, #7872
It seems that Titus Laney, an Irishman born in Germany, turns out to be Dietrich Lehnich, of German descent. Documents show that Dietrich Lehnich, living in the Monocacy Valley of Maryland, was called by various similar-sounding names. Other German names were miswritten phonetically. After his 1742 naturalization, Dietrich most often went by Titus Laney.

The will of Johannes Diel Noecker called one of his daughters Johanna Lehnich, leading to Dietrich's wife, Hannah.1,2,3,4,5

The following people are mentioned in this Lehnich/Laney Family story: Dietrich Lehnich, Johannah Noecker and Johannes Diel Noecker.
