"James is buried in a Methodist Church Cemetery, where a new marker was placed at his grave in recent years by a grandson of Abel laney Funderburk, Ed G. Funderburk." Since I did not find a grandson with this name, I decided to find out just who this was. I was able to determine that it was George Edward Funderburk, a GREAT-grandson of Abel Laney. This was confirmed by a daughter of George Edward, who knew that her father had the marker placed in Brinson Cemetery. George Edward was also the great-grandson of James Bickett.14
